Q1. How was working with MSI Japan?
I enjoyed working with you and your staff at the summersonic festival...its was a very smooth running event.Working with MSI in Japan was a very pleasant experience, all of the MSI employees i came into contact with were knowledgeable and friendly, and made my job as an engineer that much easier for both festival dates.
The people on the sound crew on both shows where very helpful and the
equipment all worked well and sounded good. I would be happy to use MSI again.
Great - very professional, very organised - made everything run very smoothly. We had some gigs to do when we came back to the UK, they were the festivals in Reading, Leeds and Glasgow, and they reminded us just how spoiled we were in Japan!!!
It was really easy to work with MSI because it's one of the most professionnel team i've ever met.
MSI JAPAN proved to be a Thoroughly Professional company to work with. The Technicians were Extremely helpful, couryeous ,and accommodating.I never encountered any problems and they were always willing to listen to suggestions and try different ideas. And the equipment provided was first class.
Q2. What do you think of the V-Dosc system?

The V-DOSC system has always been one of my favorite systems to mix on. The coverage and pattern of the arrays are always very consistent, and the rig itself requires much less equalization than most systems in the Line Array category.

I am a fan of V-Dosc having used it a number of times before. The part that
sometime I find it laks in is the sub bass but you where using the MSI subs
which I found to me lacked the punch I like although it was able to produce
the very low sub say 50hz and down it didn't have the punch I like for a kick
drum, a bit higher say around the 60 to 80 hz area.
The PA sounded great - it was just right for the venue.
My opignon is that V-Dosc is the the best system in the world with the Y-Axis from ADAMSON.
An excellent system.Only rivaled by The NEXO-ALPHA SYSTEM. Cool, Crisp, and well-rounded.
Q3. How did you like your sound for the stage?

The monitor sound onstage was also quite impressive. The rooms that we were working in for both of the SummerSonic dates were quite boomy and reverberant, and the high quality stage monitors were the key to keeping a tight, crisp sound on stage for the performers.

I didn't really enjoy the sound at the first show in Osaka as the room was
very reverberate and the actually band didn't play so well and had a hard
time trying to battle with the room and band to get a good sound. But at
Tokyo the 2nd day I had a much better time with the system and the room seem
to sound better to me although a bigger space. Also the band played much
better, my only criticism of the Tokyo show is I did notice the sub bass
tended to come and go depending on where you stood in the room, with a usual
coupling in the middle of the room but also seem lumpy towards the sides.
I think that unfortunately there were language problems between the band and the monitor engineer - it would have been better if we had our own with us who knew the band - thirteen people can get complicated!
You have to ask Spike ,the monitor man.
The rooms, in both Osaka and Tokyo, were difficult to work in given the size of the buildings. But it was quite happy with the mix I achieved and the overall sound given these obstacles. This was, off course, greatly helped by the quality of the sound system.
Q4. Can you give us some comments?
My experience with MSI Japan overall was a very positive one, and i look forward to working with them again in the future.
I would have preferred if you used Midas desk ideally XL4 but this is a
personnel choice also a better selection of outboard equipment would be nice.
Very impressed, can't wait to work with you again!
When i have the chance meeting people so professionnal as the MSI team with this quality of P.A equipement i realise that i this job is the most beautiful in this world. Thanks for all again and sorry for my bad english.
Please indicate your name and the name of your company you belong to if possible. Philippe Dubich -Noizone Thank you for your cooperation!! Hope we can work with you again!
Once again, working as a sound technician in Japan proved to be great joy. Great Systems, Very helpful staff, and no stress.
